The Information Engineering Department‘s research focuses on the generation, distribution, analysis and use of information in engineering systems.

AUTOMATION

Maximizing the efficiency, safety, and performance of autonomous vehicles and robots, smart cities, grids, and advanced industrial systems in the Industry 4.0 vision.

BIOENGINEERING

Mathematical models and technologies used in the most advanced biomedical instrumentation, such as CT and MRI, in innovative life-supporting devices, such as the artificial pancreas, in neuroscience or in motion analysis.

ELECTRONICS

Microchips, innovative circuits, sensors for smartphones and tablets, green energy, photovoltaic systems, LEDs and lasers for lighting and communications, electronics for the digital world, biochips, automotive and space electronics, organic electronics.

The Department of Electronics and Informatics (DEI) is born

Official opening of DEI

The degree in Computer Engineering is born

1990

The degree in Telecommunications Engineering is born

1992

Biomedical Engineering and Automation Engineering degrees are also created.

Establishment of the Department of Information Engineering

DEI is first in the ANVUR ministerial ranking

Launch of the Master's Degree in English: ICT for Internet and Multimedia
